MMR Marine Explorer Expedition - Eden 2009

Exploring the marine life on the Sapphire Coast.

 


On the water:
2 FULL days on the water (9-hrs per day Saturday & Sunday) onboard ‘Reel Affair’ a purpose-built 38-foot fly bridge Mariner Cruiser with twin caterpillar diesel engines. With over 12 years experience and knowledge of the waters of the Sapphire Coast.

Research Survey Trip:
Meet 6:30am for Departs from Snug Cove, Eden at 7am, returning at around 4pm. includs Morning tea, Lunch, nibbles and drinks on board. 
On water activities are weather dependant and under the skipper instruction.

A NON-refundable deposit of $100 is required within 48 hours of submitting your booking to secure your space onboard, as a lot of people book but do not pay so 1st in to pay gets the spot.
The balance needs to be paid 5 days prior to the date of Departure.

if you cancel within the 5 days prior to the date of Departure. Full refund if the skipper cancels due the unfavourable weather conditions.

Features of the Humpback Feeding trip:
The opportunity to witness the spectacular humpback whales as they make the most of the productive waters of the Sapphire Coast opportunistically feeding on krill and baitfish.
Other species sighted during this time of year include; killer whale, sperm whale, bottlenose dolphin, common dolphin, dwarf minke whale, southern right whale and multiple species of sea birds. All in the shadow of the spectacular coastline of the Sapphire Coast.

Features of the Humpback Cow/Calf trip:
The opportunity to see female humpbacks with their calves as they make the long southerly migration. The Sapphire Coast provides sheltered waters for these animals to rest and for the calves to learn and hone their newly acquired skills.
Other species sighted during this time of year
include; killer whale, sperm whale, bottlenose dolphin, common dolphin, dwarf minke whale, multiple species of sea birds all before the backdrop of the spectacular coastline of the Sapphire Coast.
